Puss in Boots
The Wonersh Players performed their annual pantomime at the Wonersh Memorial Hall during the February Half-Term Holiday in 2005. This year’s production is a modern version of the classic story ‘Puss in Boots’, from the Stevens, Evans & Stanley writing team and is directed by Steve Cozens.
Principal Boy Barry (Vicky Hussey) needs to impress young Hermione (Kylie Mayes) and enlists the help of Puss (Sam Honey) before embarking on a dangerous adventure to help the King (Leigh Terry) and the beautiful Princess (Donna Jones). Puss also needs to rescue her friend the Tooth Fairy (Nicky Bracey) and get her own back on the sneaky Fairy Godmother (Nina Cornwell).
Meanwhile, the evil Sorcerer (Glyn Tassell) and his two henchmen Serge & El Sid (Simon Osborne & Dena Templeton) are holding the hapless Queen (Den Fisher) hostage. Micky & Jerry (Steve Cozens & Charles Cornwell) try to rescue the Queen but fall foul of the Sorcerer leaving Prince Hans (Griff Bracey) & Hedwig the Cow (Dave Workman) to escape and raise the alarm.
There are plenty of jokes and songs, which kept children of all ages amused.
There were evening performances on Tuesday 15th, Thursday 17th, Friday 19th and Saturday 20th, and a Children’s Matinee on the afternoon of Saturday 20th February.
